GW1: Price list - Minipets and everlasting tonics

Due to the chronic plague of minipet scammers and the arsenal of bullshit they conjure up to validate their greed and dishonesty, I've decided to write a realistic guide for what undedicated minipets and tonics are really worth.

A lesson on the value of an item: Neither supply nor demand determines the value of an item. Its value is in an average of a combination of factors that include supply, demand, personal value of both parties, social value, aesthetic appearance and more. In the case of minipets, all but an extreme minority care less what minipets they own. All they want is a number for their Hall of Monuments for Guild Wars 2. To prove this, take a look at the value of a minipet once it's dedicated. Take this carefully into account and beware any price checks you come across, for example, guru valuating minipets at up to 5,000 Ectoplasm, or 35 million gold. Every now and then, you will run across a player who's willing to pay obscene amounts of gold for a worthless item. This is no different than going on ebay and selling the poop of a street bum for $15,000 because it looks like the face of John Lennon. The prices offered here are meant to represent the actual value of an item, with all the 'crap' removed. Anything higher or lower is the subjective value of both seller and buyer. By referencing an item's objective value, it provides an anchorage or 'reality check' during trade that prevents an items subjective value from getting out of hand, usually in the form of a seller dishonestly hyping an item's value far above what it's worth to both parties. If you have multiple characters and a pile of copies of the same minipet, it pays to find other players in the same situation, and sort between you who needs what. When you help each other out, everyone wins. When you get greedy, everyone loses, including yourself. When you rip people off, you're only forcing your buyers to raise their own prices to make back what you took from them, which in turn leads to a chain reaction of trades that drive up the price of what you're after yourself. The only legitimate trade is fair trade. If you think 'milking it' and 'playing the trade game' is legitimate, you need to take a long hard look in the mirror, and give yourself a kick up the ass.
